HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SISTER
Today my sister, Darcile McCellan, turns 94. We only get together via Ma Bell these days but I’m hoping to take off a few days at Thanksgiving to visit with her in Jacksonville, Florida. If I should stop and count all the ways she has blessed my life I’d still be writing this time tomorrow. Suffice it to say our bond of love and trust has stood the test of time and we can still giggle like to school kids when we get together!
Two more days and nights before we leave for our Mid South Children Writers’ and Illustrators confab. I’ll be surrounded by a sea of younger writers and will try my earnest to soak up all their enthusiasm and expertise.
