HOW TO HAVE A FULL HOUSE

150 plus retired educators attended the October meeting of Walker County’s Retired Educators.
Many came to hear an update on our insurance options for 2014-2015 as well as to learn what dirty tricks the Georgia legislature has up its sleeves to “mess up” our Georgia Teacher Retirement funds.
Yours truly used it as an opportunity to plug my last book which will be out in April.  They gave me a nice applause after my  pep speech.  Here’s hoping the claps turn into paid copies!
DID YOU KNOW GEORGIA FACTS?

The passenger aboard The Anne drew lots as to where they would sleep.  The people slept in wooden cradles which were five feet eight inches long inside.  For my protagonist that would include his mother, father, a 17 year old servant, himself, sand a 10 year old servant girl.  Five people in a five foot eight inch space!

A FUN OUTING

My son, Max Alan, graced us with his appearance this week and on Tuesday night he treated me, my handsome grandson Patrick, his wife Jennifer and his daughter Ashton to a wonderful meal at Ruth Chris’s Steak House near Hamilton Mall.  My petite steak was only matched in excellence  by my creme Beryle desert.  The visit was way to short but we all enjoyed touching bases.  When it comes to family I take them whenever I can and for however long I can.
I’m blessed with family ties that run deep.
