I went to see a movie this afternoon that was very moving. THE IMITATI0N GAME and is the true story of Alan Turing a British mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst and pioneer computer scientist and a key figure in cracking Natzi Germany’s enigma which saved the lives of thousands and brought World War II to an end at least two years ahead of its probable conclusion.
But that isn’t all. He went through untold rejections by forces within the British while harboring his secret of being a homosexual. His reward for his magnificent discovery he was stripped of all his honors and was sent to prison! He died before competing the sentence.
Won’t we ever learn to allow people to be different and still be acceptable?
