Make no mistake about it, I’m a Baptist. However, I love Pope Francis! His smile, inclusive words and his strong but gentle unwavering justice stands tug on my heart and challenge me to act.
James, the gospel writer, had it right when he said, (pardon my interpretation of his words) “If your faith is for real then your actions will reflect Christ’s values. Don’t tell me you care for the poor when you deny them bread to eat.”
Pope Francis deliberately chooses in his daily walk to to emphasize in word and especially by his deeds that his faith journey is for real.
COURTNEY’S MARKETING TIPS
I’m skipping point four because I don’t have a handle on what it means.
Marketing people don’t buy what you do. They buy why you do it. Start with why you do something not what you’ve done. This struck home for me.
This is my why: I write to connect today’s children/youth to significant people and events that happen many years ago. I want to make historical events burst with lively characters that cross time and cultures.
Courtney told us to stretch everything around our why for writing.
