THE SKY WAS ALSO CRYING
Today we celebrated the life of Marjorie Rose McGill, mother, grandmother, and great mother, devoted wife of her minister husband and a teacher of elementary children in our public schools.
Margie and I shared many things in common including our joy inout roles as minister’s wife and teacher of children. We even shared the same political party. We weren’t on the same page when it came to college football teams but that was somewhat minor in the total scheme of things.
The trait most often mentioned at her eulogy was her engaging smile and her ability to let people know she loved them. Marjorie was a confidence builder. It didn’t matter what I wore when I went to see her she always found something nice to say about what I had on. It’s interesting to note other people cherished that same trait. Her Immediate family and yes, her church family, were vital parts of being Margie.
In death she’s united with her beloved husband, Wallace McGill. I bet he asked her, “What took you so long to get here?”
Love lives on and on and it cannot die.
