WORSHIP AT FIRST BAPTIST

TODAY’S sermon was bursting with hope.  The scripture taken from Isaiah 43:1-7  reminded us that God knows each of by our name.  It also sanctions each of us is precious, honored and loved.  Pastor Thomas had us to repeat the phrase, “You are precious, honored, and loved,” aloud.  Then he asked us to turn to someone sitting next to us and repeat the phrase again.  For me it was an electrifying experience.
In the midst of so many national and international woes  this phrase will be my  anchor.
…when we pass through troubled waters he will be with us, even deep rivers shall not overwhelm us.
Even if we walk through fire the flame will not consume us.
HOLY, HOLY, HOLY!

Be Not Afraid
(adult choir)

Be not afraid: for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
when you pass through the floods, they will not sweep o’er you;
when you walk through the fire, you will not be consumed;
you are mine, you are precious in my sight.
My love for you is everlasting, my love for you shall have no end.
